The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has developed resources for Federal, state, local, tribal and territorial law enforcement officers concerning law enforcement certifications for the U and T nonimmigrant status, also known as the U and T visas:
- U Visa Law Enforcement Resource Guide. This Guide provides law enforcement officials with information about U visa requirements, the law enforcement certification process, and answers to frequently asked questions from law enforcement agencies to support investigations and prosecutions involving qualified immigrant victims of crime.
- T Visa Law Enforcement Resource Guide. This Guide provides information about the T visa program, certifying agency roles and responsibilities, and answers to frequently asked questions from law enforcement agencies. This Guide emphasizes that completing the Supplement B is consistent with a victim-centered approach and provides certifying agencies with helpful information on how to support victims of human trafficking while law enforcement agencies detect, investigate, and prosecute acts of trafficking.
Additional information for law enforcement agencies about the U and T visas is available on the USCIS website and the USCIS Blue Campaign website.
