On October 23, 2014 Secretary Jeh Johnson and Deputy Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas awarded the ASPEN Law Enforcement Team, including Petty Officer 3rd Class Jarin Cobb, Lt. Cmdr. Thomas D'Arcy,  Lt. Lisa De Pace, Petty Officer 2nd Class Joseph P. Gonzales, Petty Officer 2nd Class Christopher M. Gonzales, Petty Officer 1st Class Joshua T. Graham, Petty Officer 2nd Class Peter Hernandez, Lt. j.g. Robert Johnston, Fireman Dennis Monahan, Petty Officer 3rd Class Francisco Perez, Petty Officer 1st Class Michael Salsman, Lt. j.g. Sarah Sapiano, Petty Officer 2nd Class Taylor Sweeney and Ensign Rita Walter, all of the U.S. Coast Guard, the Secretary’s Award for Excellence for exceptional leadership and innovative law enforcement in thwarting 9.1 million in illegal maritime activity along California's coastline.
