At a joint press conference with Secretary of State Tony Blinken on April 27th, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas detailed that beginning May 12th, eligible individuals who arrive at our southern border will be placed in expedited removal proceedings. They will be removed most often in a matter of days and just a few weeks. Title 8 imposes significant consequences. (DHS Video by US Department of State/Released)
