Estimates of the Unauthorized Alien Population Residing in the United States

This report provides estimates of the unauthorized alien population living in the United States. It includes breakdowns by period of entry, region and country of origin, state of residence, age, and sex. 

Unauthorized aliens are not authorized to be in the country. Most entered the country without inspection or were temporary residents who stayed past the date they were required to leave.
