DHS Continues to Support Puerto Rico Rebuilding

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen M. Nielsen traveled to Puerto Rico to discuss Hurricane Maria recovery efforts. Secretary Nielsen was joined by Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson. Secretaries Nielsen and Carson met with Governor Ricardo Rosselló, local mayors, and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) employees. She visited Puerto Rico earlier this year in her former role as White House Principal Deputy Chief of Staff where she toured the devastation. This is Secretary Nielsen’s first visit since being sworn-in on December 6, 2017. View photos and read more about her trip below.
