WASHINGTON – Today, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Kevin K. McAleenan will be traveling to New Orleans to deliver keynote remarks at the 2019 National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) Annual Conference. Following his remarks, the Acting Secretary will meet with NOBLE’s Executive Board of Directors to discuss their key priorities. Then, he will host a meet and greet with officers and agents of the Federal Protective Service, who work every day to prevent, protect, and respond to threats to the U.S. government’s critical infrastructure, services, and the people who provide or receive them. Finally, Acting Secretary McAleenan will receive an operational tour and briefing from U.S. Coast Guard regarding its Gulf Coast operations to defend America's borders and protect the maritime environment.
Tomorrow, the Acting Secretary will travel to Jackson, Miss. to address the Homeland Security Advisory Council’s Subcommittee for the Prevention of Targeted Violence Against Faith-Based Communities. During the visit, he will meet with Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), to discuss Department of Homeland Security efforts to address targeted violence and domestic terrorism.
