The CIS Ombudsman's Webinar Series: Employment-Based Immigrant Visas - A Conversation with USCIS on the Statutory Framework and Pandemic Challenges

Event Date: May 26, 2022 at 1:00PM ET to 2:15PM ET

Thursday, May 26, 2022

1 – 2:15 p.m. Eastern Time

The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman) invites stakeholders to participate in a webinar about USCIS’ efforts to use all available immigrant visa numbers, giving eligible employment-based adjustment applicants the opportunity to obtain a Green Card this fiscal year. The webinar will take place on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 1 to 2:15 p.m. ET.

CIS Ombudsman Phyllis Coven and staff will engage in a dialogue with USCIS leadership and subject matter experts. The conversation will focus on immigrant visa priority dates, progress in processing employment-based Green Cards in different categories, and policy and operational initiatives aimed at maximizing visa usage and mitigating processing delays and their impact on USCIS’ customers. USCIS Chief of Staff Felicia Escobar Carrillo will also provide opening remarks.

During this information sharing session, participants may submit questions and comments. The CIS Ombudsman will use the public’s feedback (without attribution) to assist USCIS in its efforts to use immigrant visas and efficiently process these cases. For more information on our office, please visit www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman or follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn.

We look forward to hearing from you on these issues and invite you to register for this engagement.
