DHS to Begin Year-Long Operation of Rapid Recovery Transformers

May 17, 2012 —The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) will be joined by Congressman Michael McCaul and representatives from the Department of Energy and electric power industry partners to kick-off a year-long operational evaluation of new, prototype recovery transformers—that could provide enhanced recovery capabilities from transformer-related outages.
