What Document Should I Bring?

Attendees must bring their resume and veteran documents (if applicable), including:

• Two forms of identification (required for all attendees)
• Statement of Service for transitioning service members still on active duty (if applicable)
• SF-15, Application for 10-point Veteran Preference (if applicable)
• Department of Veterans Affairs, Service-Connected Disability Award Letter (if applicable)
• Form DD-214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (if applicable)
• Transcripts (if applicable)

What Should I Expect Upon Arrival?

All event attendees will be required to pass through a walk-through metal detector as part of our security check. To help expedite entrance please ensure all metal objects (to include belts, keys, and phones) are removed from your pockets prior to entering.

If you walk through the metal detector and the alarm is triggered, you will be further screened by a hand-held metal detector.

Visitors with Disabilities

In general, visitors with the following may be required to pass through the metal detector unless medical documentation is presented: pacemakers, defibrillators, or other implanted medical devices; metal implants; implanted insulin pumps/sensors; and hearing aids or cochlear implants. Visitors with mobility assistive devices, such as canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, or electric personal assistance mobility devices, who cannot walk through the metal detector without the device, may be screened with a hand-held metal detector or by a full body pat down, with the device physically inspected. All other medical equipment, supplies, and medication will either be physically inspected or passed through the metal detector.

 Additionally:

• Only a visitor, or a companion, may disconnect medical equipment from the visitor ahead of security screening.
• Visitors with medical devices who need assistance with the screening process may have a companion provide assistance; however, the companion must be screened first.

Pregnant Visitors

• Visitors who are pregnant may opt to be screened by a full body pat-down, instead of the walk-through or hand-held metal detector. Medical documentation is not required.
• If a visitor has medical documentation, they may opt to be screened with the hand-held metal detector or by a full body pat down in lieu of the walk-through metal detector. 

Please be advised, no weapons will be allowed, to include knives and pepper/oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray.

What Happens If I Receive a Tentative Job Offer?

As part of the DHS hiring process, all candidates who receive a tentative job offer during the event will be required to complete a drug test on-site. This standard, non-invasive test is mandatory. Specific details about the type of test (e.g., urine, saliva) will be provided onsite. You will need to bring a valid photo ID for the test, no additional preparation is needed.  Taking the drug test is a mandatory step in our hiring process. If you do not complete the drug test, we will not be able to proceed with your application. The results of your drug test will be handled confidentially. You will be informed of the next steps in the hiring process once the results are available.
