Christopher Heck
Chief of Staff
Christopher Heck facilitates and coordinates the execution of strategic initiatives and ensures that the vision and priorities of HSI’s senior executive leadership are effectively carried out throughout the agency.
Mr. Heck assumed the role of Chief of Staff in February 2023. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Heck held a number of other key leadership positions within HSI. He served as the Acting Deputy Assistant Director for HSI Countering Transnational Organized Crime, Public Safety and Border Security Division where he oversaw a wide variety of investigative and special operations programs targeting transnational criminal organizations, and he also served as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge in St. Louis, Missouri where he oversaw personnel and criminal investigations covering an area of responsibility from St. Louis, Missouri to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Mr. Heck began his law enforcement career in 2009 as an HSI special agent assigned to the New York field office. From 2013 to 2015, Mr. Heck was assigned to HSI Headquarters where he helped establish the National Targeting Center-Investigations. In January 2017, Mr. Heck was promoted to a supervisory special agent for HSI New York where he oversaw narcotics and trade investigations.
Mr. Heck earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of South Florida, and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University.
