JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Jacksonville investigation has led to the sentencing of a known drug trafficker selling methamphetamine and fentanyl out of a car wash in the Jacksonville area.
Sule Pedro, 47, Jacksonville, was sentenced to eight years and four months in federal prison after pleading guilty on April 13, 2023.
According to court documents, between January and August 2022, Pedro sold approximately 230 grams of methamphetamine and 23 grams of fentanyl to a cooperating defendant. On Sept. 27, 2022, federal and state law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at the car wash, where they recovered two firearms and approximately 325 grams of methamphetamine, 57 grams of fentanyl, 268 grams of alpha-PVP (also known as flakka), hydrocodone pills and other narcotics.
“This sentencing emphasizes the severity of exploiting a legitimate business to fuel the scourge of narcotics trafficking in our communities,” said HSI Tallahassee Assistant Special Agent in Charge Nicholas Ingegno. “HSI’s partnerships with Nassau County Sheriff’s Office and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are instrumental in combating drug trafficking and safeguarding the well-being of our communities.”
This case was investigated by HSI, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David B. Mesrobian.
