Former prison guard faces up to 40 years in federal prison
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — An investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations’ (HSI) Harrisonburg field office led to a former Virginia prison officer pleading guilty recently to a series of federal charges related to child exploitation and child pornography.
Davey Jonathan Sisk, 29, of Culpeper, entered the guilty plea June 17 at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
“Davey Jonathan Sisk is an admitted child sex predator,” said HSI Washington, D.C. Special Agent in Charge Derek W. Gordon. “He preyed upon the most vulnerable members of our community. We will not allow such predatory criminals to operate unhindered. HSI Washington, D.C. will continue to prioritize the safety of our public by investigating and apprehending anyone engaged in such disturbing and horrendous activity.”
According to the HSI Harrisonburg investigation, between June 2023 and February 2024, Sisk, a former prison guard at the Coffeewood Correctional Center, used a social media messaging application to coerce another individual to create and then send him videos and photos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. One of those victims was three years old and another was six years old.
In addition, Sisk admitted to sending payments through an internet payment application to a minor in exchange for numerous sexually explicit images and videos. The now-15-year-old minor engaged in sexual intercourse with another minor child. The minor sold videos and images of these sexual encounters on the internet through various social media applications from 2021 through 2022.
HSI Harrisonburg special agents conducted a search warrant at Sisk’s residence for evidence of child sexual assault material and arrested Sisk Feb. 15.
Sisk pled guilty June 17 to two counts of sexually exploiting and attempting to sexually exploit a child as well as one count of receiving child pornography. Sisk faces up to 40 years in federal prison.
This investigation was conducted by HSI Harrisonburg. This case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia.
