CAMDEN, N.J. — A California man admitted possessing with intent to distribute more than 5 kilograms of fentanyl in Bergen County following an investigation led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Newark.
Timothy Alan Blank, 55, pleaded guilty to an information charging him with one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl on Oct. 21 at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in Camden.
“HSI Newark leverages every resource and partnership to dismantle the flow of deadly fentanyl into our communities,” said HSI Newark acting Special Agent in Charge Spiros Karabinas. “Thanks to our successful collaboration with U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Lee Police Department in this investigation, we eradicated several kilograms of toxic fentanyl from poisoning the communities where we live and work.”
HSI Newark also credited the FBI Los Angeles field office for its assistance in the investigation leading to Blank’s guilty plea.
According to the investigation, on March 8, law enforcement pulled Blank over while he was driving in Bergen County and discovered the fentanyl concealed in the vehicle.
