Content for #Back2School Sub-campaign

Millions of students are headed back to classrooms all over the nation, and they’ll spend more time there — and in after-school sports, clubs and other activities — than they will at home. Educators, guidance counselors, resource officers, coaches, sports league leaders, after-school care workers or other trusted adults who work with kids are on the front lines when it comes to keeping children safe — and Know2Protect wants to share valuable internet safety messaging and resources that can help them protect the kids in their care. #Back2School with Know2Protect explains the scale and scope of online child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA) with the goal of giving parents, teachers and caregivers free resources they can use to help protect kids.

  • Consider reposting Know2Protect’s social media posts on your social media channels to help spread awareness about the importance of setting healthy online boundaries. See below for draft/example social media posts.

  • With school back in session, you can request an in-person or virtual training presentation for adults and children to teach them about the threat of online child exploitation. These critical presentations also teach how to prevent and report these crimes while supporting survivors. Check out Training to learn how to schedule a presentation. Feel free to post photos on social media of your iGuardian or Childhood Smart presentations and share links to any local news coverage about Know2Protect and #Back2School. June marks Internet Safety Month and there's no better time to reinforce the importance of setting healthy online boundaries. Know2Protect’s #DigitalBoundaries sub-campaign continues DHS’s momentum to educate and empower children, teens, parents and trusted adults to prevent and combat online child sexual exploitation and abuse by setting healthy online boundaries during the summer months and beyond.
