On December 13-16, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad F. Wolf will travel to Panama City, Panama and San Salvador, El Salvador to meet with regional counterparts and discuss broader security issues impacting the region. In Panama City, Acting Secretary Wolf will meet with Minister of Public Safety, Juan Manuel Pino Forero to engage in discussions regarding both ongoing and future areas of cooperation between the United States and Panama.
In San Salvador, Acting Secretary Wolf will attend the Bilateral Migration Task Force Meeting followed by a meeting with President Nayib Bukele to discuss El Salvador’s implementation of the Asylum Cooperative Agreement (ACA) that was signed in the latter part of 2019. On December 16, Acting Secretary Wolf will return to Washington, D.C.
