On Wednesday, April 21, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas spoke with the European Commission’s Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders. During the conversation, they emphasized a shared desire to strengthen U.S.-EU cooperation and discussed the importance of the U.S.-EU Passenger Name Record Agreement. Secretary Mayorkas and Commissioner Reynders also explored opportunities for enhancing collaboration to address domestic violent extremism and cybersecurity, and discussed ongoing COVID-19-related travel restrictions. Secretary Mayorkas and Commissioner Reynders expressed that they both look forward to participating in the United States-European Union Justice and Home Affairs Ministerial in June.
