Troy Edgar is the 9th Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.  As Deputy Secretary, he supports the Secretary and serves as the chief operating officer managing the day-to-day operations and annual budget of $100 billion, supporting 260,000 employees. He had previously served as the Department’s Chief Financial Officer during President Trump’s first term.

Edgar is a U.S. Navy veteran with more than 35 years of consulting, corporate and public sector experience as a senior executive and entrepreneur providing results to over 40 Fortune 500 companies across many industries including aerospace and defense, automotive, government, logistics and technology. 

He previously served as Mayor and City Councilmember of Los Alamitos, California for 12 years and chaired the Orange County Sanitation District as well as served on many county, state, philanthropic, and corporate boards.

Edgar holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
