The COVID-19 pandemic has touched almost every aspect of our lives this year, including summer camp, which is a treasured tradition for many children. Apart from providing much-needed summertime care for kids whose parents need to work, camp provides enrichment opportunities for children who attend. This year, many camps will be closed, and those that are open will operate differently to ensure children are safe and healthy.
Contact your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for child care resources to ensure your children still have opportunities for learning, fun, and new experiences this summer. Your EAP can provide a listing of in-person camp options that you might not have considered or referrals to thousands of virtual camps being offered across the country.
Your EAP provides resources to assist you and your family members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including support for families such as parental coaching, educational resources, and assistance with locating child care. For more information, contact your Component EAP or send an email to worklife@hq.dhs.gov.
