Whether you're commuting to work or heading out on vacation, DHS offers employees transportation benefits to help make traveling a little easier.
DHS employees who use public transit to commute to work are eligible for a transit subsidy to help offset costs.
For more information, visit the TRANServe website or e-mail TransitSubsidy@dhs.gov.
All DHS employees may now opt in to join the TSA Precheck program and receive expedited screening—at no additional cost to employees—for both their official and personal air travel. With TSA Precheck, you do not need to remove your shoes, laptops, liquids, belts, and light jackets when traveling from U.S. airports on a participating airline. All passengers are still subject to random screening.
You can opt in immediately by visiting the TSA Precheck for DHS Employees website. The site has helpful information on how DHS employees (contractors are not currently eligible under this initiative) can obtain and use their Known Traveler Number (KTN).
NOTE: TSA employees who previously opted in via the 'TSA Precheck for DHS Employees' website do not need to opt in again. U.S. Coast Guard employees, both active duty and civilians, should continue to opt in using the existing Department of Defense process.
