Perception is reality. Is it really? If we change our perception, isn’t it also possible we can create a new reality—one that is more in line with what we desire, want, and need? We bring our attitude (positive and negative), our past (hurts and joy), our biases (good and bad) to every single encounter, issue, and situation, causing us to see the reality through our lens.
What if we actually believed we are the authors of our lives? That we have the ability to write our life story in any fashion we choose. We can see the push-back we receive on one of our ideas as criticism and a put-down, or we could choose to see it as someone taking the time to listen to us and provide us with valuable advice. We can believe the loss of a job, a relationship, or a home is one more bad thing that has happened to us, or we can see it as an opportunity to finally do something that lights up our soul, an opportunity to feel new love again, and an opportunity to move to a destination where we can live far more simply.
Take up that “pen” and rearrange the ending to your perceptions, erase words that do not serve you, and add words that bring you joy, and perhaps what you’ll find is that the reality, authored by you, is far more what your heart desires.
