Family Resilience: Prevention and Response Guidance

Body

Below are family resources for dealing with traumatic events, discussing these events with children, strategies for self-care, and more. These resources are designed to help DHS employees hold space for difficult discussions with their families. In addition to the resources below, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) provides services designed to help DHS employees meet life challenges and remain healthy, engaged, and productive.

EAPs are Component-specific programs that provide a variety of useful resources to DHS employees and their families, including dependent care resources, financial consultation, legal aid, counseling services, and referrals to a variety of other service providers. EAP resources are free and confidential for all DHS employees and their families. Visit the EAP page to find contact information for your Component's EAP provider, or e-mail worklife@hq.dhs.gov for more information about EAPs at DHS.
