The Cybersecurity Internship Program is designed to give current high school and college students an opportunity to work alongside cyber leaders with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Interns are recruited from the nation's high school, undergraduate, and graduate programs and will have the opportunity to apply concepts, protocols and tools acquired through coursework in the real world by working with cybersecurity/information technology experts or in cybersecurity/information technology support areas. Internships focus on DHS mission areas and include identification and analysis of malicious code, forensics analysis, incident handling, intrusion detection and prevention, software assurance, data management, cloud/web services, and network operations.
Participants spend June - August in the paid internship program.
All participating DHS Information Technology Components.
All positions are in Springfield, VA.
To be considered you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be at least 16 years old when accepted into the program, enrolled in high school or an accredited two or four year college, or graduate school with coursework in a cybersecurity/information technology, or cybersecurity/information technology support area
- Have at least a 2.0 GPA
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrate project leadership ability
There will not be a CSIP cohort this fiscal year.
