S&T recently partnered with one of its COEs to host a Hackathon that focused on addressing current critical infrastructure risks and related threats.
The costs of manmade and natural disasters continue to rise on an annual basis in the United States. DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T)’s Community Resilience Testbeds research and development efforts will pursue new technologies designed to streamline and optimize Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster resilience investments in insurance, mitigation, and recovery operations.
Our goal is to improve understanding of the effects of EMP/GMD events on communications infrastructure.
Building on the long-standing relationship between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), DHS Under Secretary for Strategy, Policy and Plans, Robert Silvers met Director General of the INCD Gaby Portnoy in Israel at the Cybertech Global Conference and jointly decided to expand cooperation in the areas of cybersecurity and emerging technology.
The President has designated the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as the lead Federal agency to coordinate domestic preparedness and response efforts related to the current Russia-Ukraine crisis. While there are no specific threats to the homeland at this time, DHS is taking appropriate steps to ensure Federal efforts are coordinated should the need arise.
