The Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) strengthens our country's targeted violence and terrorism prevention abilities through funding, training, increased public awareness, and partnerships across every level of government, the private sector, and in local communities.
Invent2Prevent (I2P) is an experiential learning program for high school and college students to design and implement creative solutions to prevent targeted violence, hate, or terrorism in their communities. With guidance from a teacher or adult mentor, I2P empowers students to contribute to prevention through a practical, hands-on educational experience with real-world impact.

The Homeland Security Act of 2002, drafted in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, provides that the primary mission of DHS includes to “prevent terrorist attacks within the United States.” As we just recently reflected on the 9-11 anniversary, CP3 affirms its commitment to help fulfill the founding mission of the Department.
A subset of the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) Fiscal Year 2021 Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP) Grant Programs were selected for evaluation by Research Triangle Institute International. The summary report and individual evaluations of TVTP grantee project results and implementation are provided.
Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP) Grant Program recipients are required to provide close-out reports at the end of their respective grant periods. These reports provide an opportunity for recipients to describe their key outcomes, accomplishments, challenges, and lessons learned during implementation.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded 35 grants, totaling $18 million, under the Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP) Grant Program for Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24).
