Preventing Targeted Violence Saves Lives — and Money

Body

This infographic shows the estimated costs of targeted violence based on actual events and compares those costs to funding provided by the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP) Grant Program. The TVTP Grant Program supports training programs to help prevention providers understand risk and protective factors related to violence, access support resources, and improve skills to help at-risk individuals.

Prevention assists our public safety partners in addressing a critical gap and reduces criminal justice costs. The infographic shows that this was achieved through the implementation of 17 Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management projects developed with $8.1 million in funding from the FY2020-2023 TVTP Grant Program.
