Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC)

Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers

Did you know that DHS operates the biggest school in the country for policemen, detectives, Secret Service agents, Border Patrol agents, and other law enforcement professionals? It’s called the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, also known as FLETC, and it’s where law enforcement professionals go to learn the different skills they need to protect and defend our communities from criminals and terrorists.

At FLETC, law enforcement experts teach students how to safely operate firearms, how to drive safely in emergency situations, how to work undercover (in disguise), how to collect and inspect evidence (like fingerprints and photos) at a crime scene, and much more.  And since police departments and other agencies across the US all learn these skills from the FLETC, it’s easier for them to work together, which helps keep our country safer.
