DHS Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program is pleased to announce SBIR Phase 0 AWareness Education and Resources (P0WER) Symposium hybrid event.
In mid-July, the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office and Partnership and Engagement (OPE) hosted 150 youth leaders from WorldStrides and Atlanta University Center Consortium, Inc. (AUCC) at DHS Headquarters in Washington, D.C. This event was designed to showcase the wide range of career opportunities available at DHS, and to connect young leaders with the Department’s top officials.
An indictment was unsealed containing criminal charges against the alleged leader of a human smuggling organization responsible for unlawfully bringing thousands of migrants into the United States. Along with the organization, the defendant, who was arrested in Mexico at the request of the United States, has also been designated for financial sanctions by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Mayorkas hosted Canada’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Arif Virani, and Canada’s Minister of Public Safety, Dominic LeBlanc, in Washington, DC for the U.S.–Canada Cross Border Crime Forum (CBCF).
