Caldera and Extension for Operational Technology

The Homeland Security Systems Engineering and Development Institute (HSSEDI), operated by MITRE for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), partnered with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to further fortify critical infrastructure. This collaboration led to the inception of Caldera for OT, an extension specifically tailored to address threats within operational technology (OT) environments.

DHS-Supported Initiative by HSOAC, CISA, and NTAC

As part of a larger effort with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Infrastructure Security Division’s School Safety Task Force and the U.S. Secret Service’s (USSS) National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC), the Homeland Security Operational Analysis Center (HSOAC) worked to move the needle to enhance safety protocols within kindergarten through 12th-grade (K-12) educational settings.  Specifically, HSOAC was tasked to conduct exhaustive research involving K–12 stakeholders.
