The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) United States Coast Guard (USCG) operates the National Response Center’s (NRC) Incident Reporting Information System (IRIS). The NRC uses IRIS to collect and disseminate information on pollution, oil, chemical, radiological, biological, and other unknown discharges into the environment, as well as related non-intelligence suspicious activity and security breach incidents, to federal, state, and local on-scene coordinators.
