Acquisition Innovations in Motion (AIiM)

Acquisition Innovations in Motion (AIiM) is a framework focused on embracing innovation and promoting meaningful communications. Through AIiM, we introduce strategies, practices, and technologies that strengthen the acquisition environment. Our Industry Liaisons help implement AIiM activity across DHS. Their contact information is below.

The Industry-Government Activity Calendar lists DHS-sponsored activities designed to promote meaningful communications between DHS and industry. Additionally, you can monitor updated information for many of our activities on SAM.gov.

The Procurement Innovation Lab (PIL) is a DHS framework aimed at experimenting with innovative acquisition techniques across the DHS enterprise. The PIL provides a safe space to test new ideas, share lessons learned, and promote best practices. It fosters cultural changes that promote innovation and managed risk-taking through a continuous feedback cycle.

Strategic Industry Conversations are events that enable program area topic discussions between DHS leaders and industry. Unlike typical “industry days” covering specific procurements or components within DHS, Strategic Industry Conversations help industry understand DHS program posture by focusing on topics that span multiple components.

Reverse Industry Days provide DHS acquisition professionals with opportunities to learn about the issues that are most important to industry when doing business with the department. During these events, panels feature industry leaders addressing audiences of DHS acquisition professionals who learn how to enhance the DHS business environment.

Acquisition Innovation Roundtables are typically small working groups of government and industry leaders who work together to make improvements in targeted business areas. Often, these activities result in webinars designed to teach about what we learned or in other tools and resources that enhance the department’s business environment.

Our Industry Liaisons are available to help vendors connect with DHS. They conduct one‑on‑one meetings with vendors and connect them with appropriate program leaders. During these meetings, vendors can discuss capabilities, ask questions, and resolve problems. Identify the appropriate Industry Liaison points of contact below.
