    The White House announced its intent to nominate Philip Mudd as Homeland Security's Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis. Secretary Napolitano appointed Bart R. Johnson as Principal Deputy Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis. Both individuals bring extensive intelligence and national security experience.

  • U.S., Bermuda Sign Agreement on Aviation Preclearance Security Operations

    Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano and Bermuda Premier and Minister of Tourism and Transport Dr. Ewart Brown signed an agreement April 23, 2009 on new aviation preclearance security operations.
  • U.S., Netherlands Launch Air Travel Partnership

    Officials of the United States and the Netherlands today formally launched a new initiative to open membership in their expedited air travel programs to citizens of both countries in an effort to streamline entry processes for pre-screened fliers. The U.S. program is Global Entry; the Netherlands' is Privium. Citizens of the two nations now may apply to join the other country’s frequent traveler program allowing streamlined processing at the border. This arrangement is the first for the United States with a nation outside of North America.
