WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Senior Official Performing the Duties of Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) and Coordinator for Counterterrorism, John D. Cohen, met with the State and Local Intelligence Council (SLIC) in Washington, D.C. on July 20-21, 2021. This was the first in-person meeting since the pandemic for the council.

DHS Announces New Cybersecurity Requirements for Critical Pipeline Owners and Operators, Second Security Directive
In response to the ongoing cybersecurity threat to pipeline systems, DHS’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced the issuance of a second Security Directive that requires owners and operators of TSA-designated critical pipelines that transport hazardous liquids and natural gas to implement a number of urgently needed protections against cyber intrusions.
