I am very proud that U.S. Secret Service Special Agent Tate Jarrow will receive this year’s Call to Service Medal for his vital role in two of the federal government’s largest cybercrime investigations. In 2014, I presented Special Agent Jarrow with The Secretary’s Exceptional Service Award, and he has continued to represent the immense cybersecurity talent of the Secret Service.

I would also like to commend two additional employees of the Department of Homeland Security who were named finalists for this year’s Sammies: Mariela Melero, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services; and Ajay Bhatt, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

These individuals embody the mission statement of our Department: “With honor and integrity, we will safeguard the American people, our homeland, and our values.”
