On Tuesday, April 6, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas spoke by video teleconference with Portugal’s Minister of Internal Administration, Eduardo Cabrita. During the conversation, Secretary Mayorkas and Minister Cabrita reaffirmed the importance of the transatlantic relationship and discussed opportunities for increased collaboration to address violent extremism, migration management, and information sharing. They also discussed plans for the upcoming United States-European Union, Justice and Home Affairs Ministerial and the importance of upholding a US–EU Passenger Name Record (PNR) policy that strengthens and supports national security.
