Close Summary: USCG Operation Vigilant Sentry

This is a summary of CRCL’s Recommendation Memorandum to the USCG in April 2024 that followed CRCL’s investigation into allegations that the U.S. government’s policy of interdicting Haitian asylum seekers in international waters and repatriating them to Haiti prevented them from accessing the U.S. asylum system. CRCL issued six recommendations to USCG; the USCG concurred with three and partially concurred with three.
