The Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) was established to spearhead targeted violence and terrorism prevention (TVTP) efforts that affect individuals, communities, and American society. Its approach is based on time-tested principles of public health that focus on the safety and well-being of entire populations. Read more about CP3's public health-informed approach to TVTP.
In addition, CP3 uses public health-informed prevention levels to address risk and protective factors. These prevention activities seek to improve the social determinants of health that can decrease the likelihood of individuals engaging in targeted violence and terrorism on four prevention levels, categorized as primordial, primary, secondary, and tertiary. View the partner and program examples associated with each level in the pull-out "Levels of Prevention, Partner Examples, and Programs" table.
