Final Programmatic Environmental Assessment for Deployment and Operation of Low Energy X-Ray Inspection Systems at U.S. Customs and Border Protection Operational Areas (April 2012)

In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection prepared this Final Programmatic Environmental Assessment to address the potential effects of establishing Low Energy X-Ray Inspection Systems at various U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operational areas throughout the United States. The purpose of the Proposed Action is to non-intrusively inspect vehicles at CBP operational areas for the presence of contraband, including weapons of mass destruction, explosives, and illicit drugs.
