The three subcommittees (Emerging Technologies, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Cybersecurity, and Countering Foreign Influence Subcommittees) were established on October 4, 2018 by Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen to advise the Department on homeland security issues. On May 21, 2019, the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) convened in public session to discuss, deliberate and vote on these three subcommittee’s interim reports. The HSAC voted on and approved the proposed finding and recommendations in their entirety.
