The function of the National Navigation Safety Advisory Committee (NNAVSAC) is to advise, consult with, and make recommendations to the Secretary of Department of Homeland Security through the Commandant of the United States Coast Guard on matters relating to maritime collisions, rammings, and groundings; Inland Rules of the Road; International Rules of the Road; navigations regulations and equipment; routing measures; marine information; and aids to navigation systems.
