OBIM: A Decade in Review 2013-2023

Body

Since 2013, when the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) transitioned from the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT), OBIM has provided critical biometric identity services to a growing list of stakeholders including federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies as well as the intelligence community and international partners. 2023 marked the 10th anniversary of OBIM, which coincided with the 20th anniversary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Both of these anniversaries are milestones in OBIM's mission to protect the homeland, U.S. citizens, and the nation's visitors.
