To begin the Master Trainer Certification Process, applicants must apply and be accepted into the Master Trainer Program. Once accepted, applicants must complete the Master Trainer Certification Roadmap, which may be completed in any order.

Note: Completing the Instructor Development Threat Evaluation and Reporting Course is one of the required steps in the Master Trainer Certification Roadmap. The Instructor Development Threat Evaluation and Reporting Course prepares Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial partners to train their local communities and empower homeland partners to mitigate threats and prevent acts of targeted violence utilizing the Threat Evaluation and Reporting Course Training Suite.

The Master Trainer Program will assist your agency in building out its Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management processes & capabilities and providing comprehensive training in your local community.

The Master Trainer Program shares a national framework for Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management best practices! Your organization will receive access to key resources and a suite of training materials that enable them to build local capacity to prevent acts of terrorism and targeted violence, while abiding by accepted national standards and practices.

You will obtain certification! The Master Trainer Program certifies you under the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Intelligence and Analysis as an instructor of Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management best practices.

Master Trainer Certification grants an individual access to a national network of Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management experts who help build our nation’s institutional knowledge of Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management and develop our collective capacity to prevent acts of terrorism and targeted violence!

Master Trainer Certification also grants individuals access to exclusive case briefings and continuing education opportunities, including an annual Master Trainer Summit that promotes further collaboration, networking, and professional development opportunities.
