DHS Extends COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Non-U.S. Travelers Entering the United States via Land Ports of Entry and Ferry Terminals
Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that it will extend temporary Title 19 requirements and continue to require non-U.S. travelers entering the United States via land ports of entry and ferry terminals at the U.S.-Mexico and U.S.-Canada borders to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide related proof of vaccination upon request.

Readout of Secretary Mayorkas’s Trip to Panama
From April 18-20, 2022, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas traveled to Panama City, Panama to attend a Ministerial Conference on Migration and Protection with Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken and foreign and security ministers from throughout the region. During his visit, he met with President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, Foreign Minister Erika Mouynes, and Public Security Minister Juan Manuel Pino, as well as representatives of international organizations, to discuss regional coordination in managing irregular migration.

DHS CWMD Convenes BioWatch Advisory Committee Senior Leadership Meeting with State and Local Leaders
On April 5, the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD) hosted a meeting with over 80 senior state and local officials who support the BioWatch program in their respective jurisdictions. This meeting provided partners an update on the future of biodetection and a forum for participants to share best practices and exchange ideas across the BioWatch jurisdictions. On April 5, the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD) hosted a meeting with over 80 senior state and local officials who support the BioWatch program in their respective jurisdictions.
