  • S&T NUSTL Overview

    The National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL) is a federal laboratory organized within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). Building upon its proud history since 1947, NUSTL provides the national first responder community with the necessary services, products and tools to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to and recover from homeland security threats and events.

  • DHS Report on Domestic Violent Extremism Internal Review

    At Secretary Mayorkas’ direction, a cross-Departmental working group of senior officials conducted a comprehensive review of how to best prevent, detect, and respond to potential threats related to domestic violent extremism within DHS.

  • Expert Recommendations Memo to ICE Concerning Jackson Parish Correctional Center

    CRCL conducted a virtual onsite investigation into conditions of detention for ICE detainees at the Jackson Parish Correctional Center in Jonesboro, Louisiana. As part of the review, CRCL engaged the assistance of four subject-matter experts in the following areas: medical care, mental health care, conditions of detention, and environmental health and safety.

  • SIMEX Resources

    In April 2021 HSSEDI conducted the Law Enforcement Use of Force SIMEX for the DHS Office for State and Local Law Enforcement to explore the factors and scenarios that contribute to escalating use of force.

     

     

     

  • NBSAC

    The function of the Committee is to provide advice to the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security through the Commandant of the United States Coast Guard on matters relating to national boating safety.

  • NOSAC

    Provides advice on matters related to offshore mineral and energy resources and industries.

  • DHS Environmental Justice Strategy for Fiscal Years 2021-2025

    This Environmental Justice Strategy is intended to promote a comprehensive, consistent, and adaptive method for identifying and addressing environmental justice through the activities, policies, and programs of DHS Operational and Support Components. The Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer and the Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL) began updating the DHS Environmental Justice Strategy in the fall of 2019, with the assistance of the DHS Environmental Justice Working Group. Through this process, DHS Components provided input on strategic goals and objectives to ensure alignment and consistency with Department priorities. From September 24, 2020 to November 5, 2020, DHS made the draft Environmental Justice Strategy available to the public in five languages by posting on a public website19 and distributed it among the CRCL stakeholder email list. One anonymous comment was received via email, and all comments have been taken into consideration.

  • Transportation & Logistics

    The Transportation & Logistics category provides DHS access to logistics services and package delivery and packaging services. Current DHS-wide Transportation & Logistics Services contract vehicles offer DHS customers access to relocation services for DHS personnel, and shipping and package delivery services.

    The Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman) aims to be a champion for a transparent and efficient immigration benefits system administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Our strategic plans help us to effectively carry out our mission through casework, stakeholder engagement, and policy recommendations.
