  • Master Trainer Program

    The National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Program Office's Master Trainer Program (MTP) certifies Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (F/SLTT) partners in the instruction of Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) techniques and best practices. This instructor development and certification program prepares F/SLTT partners to train their local communities and empowers homeland partners to help mitigate threats and aid in preventing acts of targeted violence.

  • Your Safety, Our Priority Campaign

    As co-chair of the Government Services and Facilities Sector, Federal Protective Service's (FPS) Your Safety, Our Priority initiative aims to promote security and resilience through information and resources sharing for state, local, tribal, and territorial government personnel, as well as the essential functions they perform. FPS’s goal is to keep people safe, both online and off, by educating and empowering them to prevent these threats through vigilance. This initiative provides information on how to remain vigilant and increase personal safety, in the office, during commutes, on business trips, at home, and more.

  • CBRNE Program

    The Federal Protective Service responds to credible chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and energetic materials (CBRNE) threats or incidents. The CBRNE Program provides support to incident investigations, threat assessments, emergency operations, and provides evacuation support, mutual aid, and training assistance. The CWMD Office supports Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (FSLTT) partners with funding, equipment and support. This is primarily accomplished through the flagship CBRN programs BioWatch, Securing the Cities, and the Mobile Detection Deployment Program and through the Training and Exercise program.

  • DHS Prevention Resource Finder

    The Prevention Resource Finder provides tools to help people prepare for and prevent acts of targeted violence like mass shootings, school and campus shootings, workplace violence, and hate crimes. Resources include community support; grant funding opportunities; information-sharing platforms; evidence-based research; bullying, depression, domestic violence, and mental health support; gun safety best practices; and training opportunities for communities to reduce the risk of targeted violence, including hate-based targeted violence.

  • National Threat Assessment Center

    The National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) conducts research, training, and consultation on threat assessment and the prevention of targeted violence. The NTAC team is comprised of social science researchers, regional program managers, and specialists who support and empower communities to prevent all forms of targeted violence. Visitors can register for live virtual training events and download NTAC's published research and guidance for law enforcement.

  • National Computer Forensics Institute

    The National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) is the nation’s premier law enforcement training facility in cyber and electronic crime forensics. The NCFI seeks to educate state, local, tribal, territorial law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and judges in the continually evolving cyber and electronic crime related threats, and educate, train and equip them with the tools necessary for forensic examinations to combat those crimes.
