  • DHS Data Mining Reports

    The Data Mining Report is published annually pursuant to the Federal Agency Data Mining Reporting Act of 2007, which requires DHS to report to Congress on DHS activities that meet the Act’s definition of data mining. The report summarizes DHS programs that conduct pattern-based queries, searches, or analyses of one or more electronic databases to discover or locate a predictive pattern or anomaly indicative of terrorist or criminal activities.

  • Deployed Intelligence Officers and Protective Security Advisors

    The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) deploys Intelligence Officers and Protective Security Advisors to support state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector partners in advancing the homeland security mission. Intelligence officers are embedded in recognized state and major urban area fusion centers to advance the sharing of threat related information among federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector partners. Protective security advisors engage these partners as regional critical infrastructure security and resilience specialists, providing local perspective to—and supporting the development of—the national risk picture by identifying, assessing, monitoring, and minimizing risk to critical infrastructure at the regional, state, and local levels. Their distinct yet complementary roles enable intelligence officers and protective security advisors to jointly support DHS partners in ensuring the safety and security of our nation.

  • DHS/TSA/PIA-034 – TSA Enterprise Performance Management Platform (EPMP)

    The Enterprise Performance Management Platform (EPMP) is a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) system is designed to assist in performing security management functions using a wide variety of data associated with security, equipment, and screening processes from TSA’s security activities. EPMP maintains Personally Identifiable Information (PII) on members of the public in excess of basic contact information, which triggered the requirement to conduct the original EPMP Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) dated May 10, 2011. TSA updated this PIA to reflect 1) the inclusion of the Visible Information Management System (VIMS), a data management module within the EPMP framework that supports the Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR) Program; 2) the transfer of payroll transactions for Transportation Security Officers (TSO) from the Performance Management Information System (PMIS) to the Airport Information Management (AIM) System; and 3) the storing of PII on individuals identified in the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB) as posing a threat to transportation or national security in the AIM System.

  • DHS/USCIS/PIA-040 – Center Adjudication System Electronic Processing (CasePro)

    U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) developed this Center Adjudication System Electronic Processing (CasePro) system to assist with the adjudication of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), Deferred Enforced Departure (DED), and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) filings. CasePro electronically organizes and reviews incoming filings, identifies approvable cases, automates the adjudication of some cases which meet filing requirements, and routes filings requiring additional review to the manual resolution process. USCIS conducted this Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) to describe how CasePro collects, uses, and maintains Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
