In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection prepared this Final Programmatic Environmental Assessment to address the potential effects of establishing Low Energy X-Ray Inspection Systems at various U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operational areas throughout the United States. The purpose of the Proposed Action is to non-intrusively inspect vehicles at CBP operational areas for the presence of contraband, including weapons of mass destruction, explosives, and illicit drugs.
