The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) is leading the effort to bring smart cities standards to the nation’s public safety community.  S&T’s Smart City Interoperability Reference Architecture (SCIRA) project aims to serve as an interoperable framework that integrates commercially available Internet of Things (IoT) sensors for public safety applications at the community level.
