The Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) offers a variety of opportunities for engagement, including requests for information, calls for proposals, and announcements of other funding and unfunded partnerships.

OpportunityS&T ProgramDue Dates
The Center for Accelerating Operational Efficiency (CAOE), a DHS Center of Excellence, Broad Request for Proposals for the year 2025. 

CAOE is seeking full research proposals that address issues and challenges identified by CAOE, DHS, or its federal partners to convey a comprehensive understanding of the identified problem area within four outlined thematic areas, demonstrate knowledge of prior research, identify knowledge/capability gaps, and propose innovative solutions. Who should apply: Educational Institutions, but collaboration with federal laboratories, industry partners, and nonprofit organizations is encouraged where appropriate to foster applicability to the Homeland Security Enterprise and transdisciplinary collaboration.

The DHS S&T Homeland Security Startup Studio (HSSS) is accepting applications for its 2025 Cohort.

HSSS is a unique program that pairs program formed teams with a federally funded technology to assess the commercialization potential. Who should apply: Entrepreneurs at any stage of their career (technologists, business experts, career shifters, veterans, and re-entrants to the workforce). Individuals or teams are welcome to apply.

Long Range Broad Agency Announcement (LRBAA) to the scientific and technical communities to propose novel ideas that address DHS Components' highest priority operational needs. 

Who should apply: Entrepreneurs, startups, small businesses, medium to large businesses, academia, national labs, recognized R&D organizations, international.
