The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Urban Operational Experimentation (OpEx)—hosted by the National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL)—provides first responders with the opportunity to experiment with new and emerging technologies in realistic, urban settings.
FABIS-Mobile facial recognition software, developed by Ideal Innovations, Incorporated (I3), underwent operational experimentation on January 24, 2017, at the National Urban Security and Technology Laboratory (NUSTL). FABIS-Mobile is designed to enable users to rapidly identify individuals appearing in video and still camera images.
