The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) must rapidly identify and develop technologies to counter emerging threats. The Cyber Security Division (CSD) conducts and supports research, development, testing, and evaluation to secure the Nation's current critical information infrastructure and to plan for a more secure infrastructure in the future. Protecting the Nation’s Financial Services Sector (FSS) Critical Infrastructure against cyber threats is a pressing priority.

DHS’s Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP) launched the Innovation Other Transaction Solicitation (OTS) HSHQDC-16-R-B0005 in December last year. The OTS Innovation framework engages early stage start-ups through targeted non-dilutive funding and provides opportunities for operational testing and market access. The SVIP hopes to rapidly expand the commercial development roadmaps to include homeland security solutions by incentivizing product developers.

SVIP in partnership with CSD released the Financial Services Cyber Security Active Defense (FSCSAD) Technologies Call under the Innovation OTS, HSHQDC-17-R-00008. Details of the call can be found at: https://www.fbo.gov/spg/DHS/OCPO/DHS-OCPO/HSHQDC-17-R-00008/listing.html

The purpose of this Industry Day is to:

1. Describe the Silicon Valley Innovation Program to startups
2. Describe the homeland security challenges, use case and technical need for this topic
3. Show you how to apply for funding
